MLB Play:
LAD -$1.45..Magic Mojo for Mattingly's bunch, as ownership stability gives a good vibe to Dodger players, reigning Cy Young Kershaw ready to go, and at a bargain price.

Stauffer's injury defaults opening day start to Volquez, whom is coming off a bad 2011 after All-Star 2010, has allowed 11 Walks in 20 2/3rd spring innings, and traditionally a poor April pitcher. No Carlos Quentin for SD.

The Dodgers were 13-5 against the Padres last season, including 6-3 at Petco Park.

Kershaw was 3-0 against the Padres last year with a 1.78 ERA in three starts and was 2-0 at Petco Park with a 2.20 ERA. In six career starts at Petco Park, Kershaw is 3-1 with a 2.21 ERA in six games. He is 7-3 lifetime against the Padres with a 2.32 ERA in 13 starts.

Volquez, 28, will be facing the Dodgers for only the second time in his career. He won that 2008 start, allowing one run on three hits over seven innings. Volquez is 1-1 with a 2.33 ERA in four games (three starts) at Petco Park.

---------------------------------------------
Leans Only:
Pitt +$1.55..Buccos 5-0 alltime opening day vs Phi..Phi 13-22 at PNC..Phi won last two opening day games after losing their previous four..and last won three openers in a row(or more..1962-1966)

Phi-Pitt Under 7 -$1.24..Phils poor wOBA in 2011 despite their heavy 30-14 winning mark vs LHP..Without Utley..Pence & Victorino the main Lefty killers in the lineup to pitch around.

Phi-Pit Under 3.5 Runs 1st 5 Innings -$1.20..it's expected to be around 49* at gametime..Bedard a trade target of Phils GM the last few years, may just want to impress vs former ALer Halladay? It's a crapshoot!

DodgerDugout.com reports "Kershaw has the flu. Mattingly begged him to sit down, but Clayton wouldn't hear it."

I'm gonna ride it out as a team play, but tread lightly if you are backing Kershaw & Dodgers.

Nothing big. I used my free $10 post-March madness play on a Cin/LAD parlay.

One down, one to go.

Magic Johnson celebrates win #1 in the stands.

Kershaw only went 1 inning, 2 hits allowed, 1 BB, and 3 Ks. T'was a win by committee!
