I am playing my first league game at Premier soccer center in Baton Rouge tonight. Have any of you played there before. Just trying to get a little review of the place before I go tonight.

Played since it opened.

Jason is a good guy, facility is nice. Refs are good but irritable (they usually ref 5 games back to back and get bitched at every. fricking. game.)

Make sure you know the rules. We played a damn good team last night, and one guy got red carded 50 seconds into it because he didn't know you couldn't slide tackle. Granted, he tackled from behind on a break away and missed the ball.

All of this. I think the referee quality is so-so. They let pretty physical play go, which sucks when my team went up against big athletic teams (we were small and technical).

Real question is how would one get on a roster?

6'1 230 ish and getting back in shape. Played more when I was younger but since lil bro is playing, I have been doing so as well. Anyone need another body?

I'd suggest contacting that center, I've asked a few times on the board and got no responses. I'm guessing that means their teams are full or don't know/care.

You can pick a league and sign up as a free agent. You will then get assigned to a random team.

Or you can just go to the facility and do it there. I used to play every season, but as a broke college student, I don't want to pay $70 4 times a year to play.
