I'm always looking for new music to download and there are a few places I've gone to find it over the past few years:

Pandora/Spotify
iTunes Genius
The OT lounge threads provided a lot of new stuff
A couple of music magazines

I don't have satellite radio though I've been meaning to get it for years, and I'm sure that is another good source.

Where do you go to find new music?

I've downloaded more tunes that the Seaward posted on TD than any other poster for sure.

SWEET, thanks!!

I will check all of these out. The only addition I have that wasn't included in the OP is "This is my jam."

It's pretty new, but there is some great stuff on there as well.

I use lastfm. Download the scribbling tool and it updates your profile with your itunes and wmp artists, songs and the frequency that they are played. It finds other people with similar tastes and shows the bands and albums that you aren't listening to. It also has playlists like pandora. Skip, like, dislike songs, etc... It does a good job.

Eta: I see people have already mentioned everything that I posted.

Eta2: there should be a weekly thread titled "what the seaward is listening to."

haha. i think you guys give me too much credit.

i would strongly recommend rateyourmusic to anyone who hasn't been there. It is a site kind of like IMDB, but for music. I have discovered so much great stuff from there.

Here is their greatest albums of all-time chart if anyone is interested. They have plenty of other charts as well (by decade, genre, etc.)

ETA: I see someone just started a thread about RYM.

I've posted on a couple of band message boards over the years. The dredg message board is like a treasure trove of unheralded music.

I actually find stuff by reading album reviews of bands I know for entertainment/passing time while at work, and find new bands that sound like that style there, and then search them out on torrents and give them a shot.
