trying to recollect the grocery stores of new orleans come and gone...

The Real Superstore I think it was called, on airline hwy near Earhart. I remember it because you had to put a quarter in the basket to unlock it, then got the quarter back when it was returned to the basket area. Great idea IMO.

The Robert's in Metairie & Lakeview are still open. Not sure about the other pre-Katrina locations.

Robert's also as a location in Metry. The one on Robert E Lee was home of my 1st job.

Eventually the only grocery stores left will be H E B and Super wal Mart.

I wish we had Trader Joe's, Costco, and HEB in Louisiana....You know it's sad when the Baton Rouge F & D posters think that New Orleans has it good with Rouses

I agree. I like Costco's better than Sams. Although there really is little difference.
I do most of my grocery shopping at the Commissary.
