Rebrand Update

Over on HR bigdub81, the poster that has come up with great concept artwork in the past on name changes apparently has a few team connections.

There's more to his post over on HR but the key thing seems to be Shinn was anti rebrand and replacing all of his FO holdovers with local employees when Demps came in has changed the team's resistance to rebranding. Sounds like it might actually happen.

Would you rather Nola Thugs? That's intimidating? How about Nola Police Brutality? You could use a burning body as a logo. Actually, go ahead and name one NBA team with an "intimidating" name. The closest you'll get is Grizzlies and Timberwolves.

Krewe of Thugs. Yay. Krewe is closer to thugs than anything else. A group of people.
Breakers, Pelicans I could live with. I still think hockey with brass. Same with voodoo although i love their color scheme. I mean krewe is just dumb.

I'm sorry, Warriors sounds intimidating, which explains the fact that they had to build a second arena to house all of their championship trophies.

I've thrown a lot of shite on the walls on this idea. I'm allowed to let my opinions morph and develop.
But the idea that I don't like krewe so it the only resort to that would be thugs is foolish.

this whole "brass = NOPD" thing is fricking dumb. just buy the name, logo and colors from C. Ray and be done with it.
