I can neither confirm nor deny that Tiger Band may or may not be performing an arrangement of "Slaughter on 10th Avenue" this year

Was looking for Surrey/Fringe and found a Hugh Jackman version. I didn't like it.

This song is from that that show:

Ed Ames - "My Cup Runneth Over" (1967)

count how long he holds that note near the end

I know it doesn't meet the definition of a show tune in the strictest sense but this is one of my all-time favorites.

The Doors - "Summertime" -- Is it my imagination or does Robbie Krieger quote "My Favorite Things" at one point?

The Happenings - "I Got Rhythm"

Bryan Ferry - "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes"

The Jaguars - "The Way You Look Tonight"

The Fifth Estate - "Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead"

Len Barry - "Somewhere"

Dion and the Belmonts - "Where Or When"

The Beatles - "Till There Was You" -- Wikipedia: "Meredith Willson's widow later told the New York Times that his estate made more money from the royalties of the Beatles' cover of "Till There Was You" than it did from the play [The Music Man]"

Elvis Costello - "My Funny Valentine"

Ian McCulloch - "September Song"

Lou Christie - "Beyond The Blue Horizon"

Jill O'Hara & Jerry Orbach - "I'll Never Fall In Love Again"

From the Broadway musical Promises, Promises (1968), which was based on the Oscar-winning film The Apartment. Music by Burt Bacharach, lyrics by Hal David -- that same year it was a #6 pop hit for Dionne Warwick.

How many of Jerry Orbach's Law & Order fans know he introduced not one but two song standards?

Note that Orbach is singing in fairly conventional Broadway style, while O'Hara's singing is more modern and soul-influenced.

I'd never heard of Jill O'Hara before this morning. She was pretty cute and could certainly sing. I wonder why she never became a star.

"Cool"

Interesting to compare the choreography to the film version.

Director-choreographer Jerome Robbins rehearsing the WSS cast. Let's get ready to rumble!
