Yeah I didn't mean exactly like him. He should learn some solid defense being coached by Monty. I meant in terms of offensive skills. He legitimately looks like the college version of Amare with his range, athleticism, and ball handling.

Please read this and understand why MKG will be nothing less than a star.

I think we take T Robinson over MKG, unless he measures up < 6'7" w/out shoes.

We need a PF and he looks to be a future star IMO.

I hope I'm wrong, but I predict us picking around #4 in the draft.

Hopefully we don't have to worry about that because I'm focusing on the number one pick or fail mentality.

Most of the season people have talked about someone like Iggy as his ceiling, then all of a sudden after a few tournament games people say he could be another DWade? That just doesn't seem to add up. Don't get me wrong, drafting the next Iggy wouldn't be bad, I just don't know if it's the best fit for the team considering we have Ariza already in place and TRob is also considered to have a quasi All Star ceiling at a position of greater need.

Notable quote from the article I posted:
quote:

Over the summer, Thomas was a workaholic. He wouldn't take a day off and was the most electric player at the Amar'e Stoudemire Skills Academy, outplaying even Ohio State's Jared Sullinger. "He has the speed of Kobe and a body like LeBron's," Markieff says. "Sky's the limit."

I like him and would be pleased if we ended up with him. Davis is the only one I'd take over him.

I'll take T-Rob's shoulders over MKG anyday.....and can we please stop mentioning Harrison Barnes for Minny's pick please, the guy seems to be overhyped and a downgrade from what we have in Ariza.

I think with the way this draft is shaping up, if Minny's pick is in the teens, you're gonna be lookin at a quality bench player for the first couple of years with good potential.

I say we look for someone to back up Gordon as insurance....and I'll say due to his "injury woes", not his potential free agency.

i like the optimism, but you do realize that like 12 players in the league currently average those kind of numbers, right?
what kind of scoring numbers do you think MKG will put up in his prime?

FWIW I would prefer Robinson, but I just thought it was interesting that Ford had us taking MKG and wanted to know what people thought of that.

no idea, TBH. i'm just pointing out that it's a rarity for a guy, especially on a D 1st team, to put up gaudy numbers like that. especially when EG will more than likely be our go-to, hopefully for the next few years.

if i had to guess, in the 16-18 range. but like i said, i have no idea. i don't follow college basketball much.

i have little doubt that T Rob will at the very least be a very solid rebounder in the nba...His strength and hustle will make him good on D too....and he has some ability. He is not nearly as limited offensively as many big men. if he can knock down that mid range shot consistently, he will be a force.

i just don't know about MKG...17 ppg would be great, but i don't know if he has that in him...have to wait and see i guess...i don't want another defensive SF who can't score

MKD is more of a slasher, which would not fit well with our team because of Gordon we need a guy that can stay on the perimeter and get the kick out and drain a 3

If we were to take MKG with the 2nd pick we'd expect him to be an all star player, Almost every all-star wing since '05 has averaged 20+ ppg in a season atleast once in his career(the lowest is Deng with 19). I'm not so sure he can get those numbers with his offensive game, if kadillak is right it would be a mistake taking him at number 2 averaging 17 at his peak. We will always be a good defensive team as long as Monty is here, what we need are players that can score the basketball to help EJ.

could MKG be a Deng type player and average 16/7/3/1/1? a solid offensive threat and also play solid D?

Not a single person here knows what MKG will average in his prime what I do know is he is the youngest player in college basketball with an incredible motor and great finishing ability. He is a jumpshot away from doing everything iggy does, and iggy isn't a great jumpshooter anyway. The fact is he has way more potential to be a star than Thomas Robinson, and you are kidding yourselves if you think otherwise.
