I was playing around with Chad Ford's lottery machine last night, and if we get the 2nd pick, he has us taking MKG over TRob.

With that first pick, we might just need to be picking best available, which would probably be MKG. But TRob is a beast as well, and he probably fits the holes we have better. I could see Robinson starting next year on our team at the 4 spot, but I'm not sure what we would do with MKG. I guess he'd play the 3 spot, but then what would we do with Ariza? It would be nice to have a great scorer at the 3, but I (and Monty) love Ariza's defense.

So I could see why we would go either way. MKG is a straight up baller, but TRob fills our needs more. What do yall think, sons?

Give me MKG all day. Kid is probably the hardest working player in college basketball. Came in younger than most players and has really improved his game. Lacks a true 3 point shot but he is big, physical, and athletic. I see Ron Artest in him without the attitude easily. Davis - MKG - TRob in that order then IDK what to do.

It really depends what we think we can get with our second pick.

This draft is heavy at the 4, so getting a 3 that we could really use with the #2 pick and then grabbing a 4 like John Henson or Sullinger at Minny's spot wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea.

I was thinking Robinson easily as well until I saw Ford's mock draft. I'd be happy with either, I just think we need a 4 more. But if the Hornets are concerned about TRob's size and just want to take the best player available, I could see why we would take MKG.

The plan is to build around Gordon. He is good at attacking the basket and is very effective at the pick and roll but has no one to pick and roll with here. I think you take TRob and don't give MKG a 2nd thought unless he slips far enough you think you can trade up to get him.

I see no reason to be concerned about his height. If Carl Landry was a good rebounder we might not be talking about drafting a PF. Landry averaged 7 rpg his last year at Purdue while TRob is one of the best rebounders in college basketball averaging almost 12 rpg.

Well I'm not too concerned about it, but obviously there are scouts that are. So I guess it depends on what the Hornets scouts are telling them.

Even if that's what we do Robinson would be the pick imo.

Question to the board, What do you think Kidd-Gilchrist will average ppg?

Yeah because it isn't just the same players ordered each time. Everytime you get a new order of teams, the players get drafted differently.

It does.

And, per the one I just got, it claims we'd take MKG at #2.

EDIT-

Here's one I like...

Us at #3, getting T-Rob, then getting Tyler Zellar at #12.

yea, I know he plays good defense and can rebound very well for a 3, but I don't like the idea of drafting some one at with the second pick that can't give atleast 20ppg

Best Case scenario with #2 pick scenario, TRob and Barnes with T wolves pick.

i like the optimism, but you do realize that like 12 players in the league currently average those kind of numbers, right?

12 of them... and one is Monta Ellis, who is incapable of doing anything else.

T Rob over MKG easily. T Rob is an elite college big man and has skills like post up and a nice midrange jumper that can translate over to the NBA. He's even shooting 50% from 3 which means he can have a Stoudemire-like shooting range. I do like MKG but just being more athletic than everyone else in college usually doesn't translate into the NBA. If we don't take T Rob and we have the #2 pick I will be very upset. Don't be surprised when he turns into Amare in a few years.

Hopefully he'll have better knees and be capable of playing defense.
