How does it work at LSU? Is there a "waiting list", how cheap are they, do I have to sign up for anything, etc, etc?

I was about to write out a detailed answer, then I realized I last got student tickets in 2009, so it could be way different by now.

Incoming students usually get the option for a half season package to spread tickets out for the newcomers. It's a lottery as well so you may not get any. They should send out emails sometime in the summer I believe. This may have changed but that's the way it was a couple years ago.

As a freshman you are put into a lottery. You may get to buy the whole season or just three games. Either way it's 12 dollars a game.

My sentiments exactly

Well I'll be a new student to LSU, but I'll be a junior. I'm transferring in. Does that change anything?

idk how it works for transfer students but since you're credited with so many hours then you should be exempt from the Freshman lottery. If you are then just keep checking your e-mail in June and July and they'll send you ordering instructions for tickets. Once you get that e mail just follow the instructions and you'll get all the home game tickets at 12 a game.
They're trying to go to electronic ticketing next year so the process of how you get the tickets once you order them might be changing

Transfer students get priority after the freshman. They offer tickets in packages but everyone ends up getting all the games pretty much

I don't think this is true. I believe all incoming students are put at the same level, freshman or not. The exception is graduate students.

This. The tickets are 12 bucks a piece as stated before, but you will be put in the lottery with freshman. The three years I have been on campus all incoming students have gotten at least one ticket package (half the games) and 2 out of 3 years lottery students received all the games.

It's news to me but it sounds like your ID would be your ticket.

That would make it impossible to sell your ticket

No it wouldn't. in fact it'd probably make buying (and selling to some extent) safer. I'm assuming if they went electronic (like you said, make your ID the ticket) then they'd have some way to tranfer the ticket to someone else's ID. It'd eliminate the ridiculous student scalping that goes on for the big games and would eliminate the possibility of someone "selling" you the ticket and then using it before you (hate these frickers, have seen it happen to a couple of friends).
