Looking for some suggestions on places to eat / drink in NOLA the next few days. Taking the wife there for the first time. Not looking for overly fancy like Brennan's or commanders, more hole in the wall/local goodness. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is going to be PACKED all over the city. Two great places to drink are The Chart Room and Molly's on the Market.

I like the muffaletta at at Central Groc, but want to try Johnnys when I'm there again.Central groc is an interesting place, they sell basil/oregano and tomato seeds from Italy which I bring back here for my Italian friends.

Today would be a great day for picnic on the levee with a Muff from Central grocery, Zapps and a Bargs root beer.

I am a fan of K-Pauls deli lunch.

If you're wandering down there (which I'd recommend you do), I'd recommend getting something to eat at 3 Muses. Adolphos isn't a bad rec, though.

Eat New Orleans corner of Daphine and Dumaine. No corkage fee for first bottle of wine and first 6 pack of beer. Best new place in the Qtr. They have brunch on the weekends
