I just got finished watching the first series on Netflix. I don't watch much anime, but I thought this show was excellent. The ending, IMO, was great.
I see that Netflix also has Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood. I am definitely going to watch it as well, but I heard there were movies that took place in between those two series. If so does anyone know were I can watch those? They're not on Netflix, and I don't want to start Brotherhood prematurely.

Brotherhood is actually a reboot, rather than a continuation. It's supposedly closer to the manga.

Yea, Brotherhood is basically a redo of the FMA series. The first few episodes are the same, but it really changes after that.

Also, if you are interested in anime, I started this thread a while back:

It has some really good recommendations on it.

I watched FMA.

I dunno if I can go back and watch Brotherhood with the same animation and voice actors.
It'll feel really bizarre watching different events take place in the same universe.

Both of them are excellent but brotherhood in my opinion was just better. The last episodes are very very good.

It was.. especially considering they seemed to just plain reuse some of the scenes.. but it's a good bit better + more action so just do it.

just went back and watched some of brotherhood and totally forgot how awesome and brutal the mustang parts were. Mustang and wrath(brotherhood)/pride(fma) are my favorite characters in the series.

Full metal alchemist was horrible compared to Brotherhood.

And for the movies, the first one takes place after the original series. I think the second one takes place during Brotherhood some time.

Agreed brotherhood is so much better even though FMA is still incredible. They had to change the story originally BC the anime was catching up with the manga. Was really happy when they finally remade it to follow the manga.
