I'm glad to see my man Tiger is finally back. He will win the Masters this year.

His problem has always been the divorce and all the mental repercussions of the divorce. I believe he's over it now. I was surprised that he took that long to get his head on straight.

I guarantee a Masters victory.

I'm pretty sure his problems have been injuries and his inability to drive the ball straight.

Now that those are resolved everybody better watch out!

And yes I'm glad he's back too.

The love for tiger has been strong on this site for a long time. We've always had the tiger haters and tiger fans.

If he stays consistent, this could be a good few months of battle between him, mclroy, watson, and maybe even phil.

I wouldn't put that much stock into him winning at bay hill which is essentially his home course. His putting is going to fail him at Augusta. Book it.

How come when <insert player not named Tiger> wins a big tournament, most of the golf fans are quick to point out "Hey, it's just one tournament, don't overreact. The talent in professional golf is too deep for one person to dominate. Nobody will ever repeat what Tiger did from 2000-2002. If this guy wins one or two more majors in his career it will be a great career."

But when Tiger wins a tournament that he has now won 7 times (if he had to pick tournament to bet his life on, it would be this one, not the Masters), those same naysayers exclaim, "Tiger Woods is back. He's going to win between 20-25 majors." Yes, I heard that comment on the golf channel this morning.

Why the double standard?

I don't ever recall hearing this, except maybe when guys come from nowhere and win a major. When Rory broke through most were immediately comparing him to Tiger.

Because he is Tiger Woods and proven to be the best golfer since Jack and maybe of all time. It was also the manner in which he won the tournament. A tournament with a pretty solid field of players. Not to mention that Tiger being good again and chasing Jack's record is good for golf and the media that covers golf.

Personally, I don't think he will ever be back to being the dominant Tiger of old on a consistent basis, but he will likely be dominant through a few tournaments each year.

He used to live in islelet in Orlando. Bay Hill isn't very far away and he played it very often. It's as much a home course as any one has in the tour.
