I have a 1TB external hard drive Toshiba and about 70 percent of blu ray downloads I do won't allow it to transfer to the hard drive. Is there a reason for this?

Why isn't it letting me store them in my hard drive. I like to watch and listen to the best quality.

You're trying to go from the external to the PC's hard drive right?

It could be because the file is in use (because you are sharing it). Try closing your bitTorrent client or removing it from your share library first.

it probably is still in use like the previous poster said. If moving to play on like an xbox you should be aware it wont play movies over like 10 gb I think. I think it is 10 gb at least. I remember I was all jazzed about downloading some 40 gb version of the Star Wars blu ray just to find out it wouldnt stream to my xbox. I had to watch on computer.

The maximum file size for transfer to a FAT32 hard drive is 4 GB. Either reformat to NTFS or do without. Basically you're SOL if you have stuff on the harddrive.

I usually watch on my computer or hook my external to my Tv and watch it through there.

I might have to reformat it. If I do that will it delete all the files I have on my external?

If you reformat, it will delete everything on that hard drive so back up your files.
