I went into Tujacque's and noticed there were no barstools. When I asked about it I was told that Tujacque's is "the oldest stand-up bar in the South." It's the only one as far I know. Anyone here know of any others?

Never heard of standup bars. Sounds awful.

I know some places do it for events to allow a steady flow to the bar. I've seen Ernst Cafe do it a few times.

Seems like a good idea on a very busy night.

Most busy bars do it. Hell, I remember Fred's picking up the barstools once it got busy.

Also keeps drunks from crushing somebody's skull with a barstool.
