Is there good fishing without having to boat far from the launch? Going to be going in a small flat or kayak later this spring and summer.
Thanks.

They have some dams you could try right off of Falgout canal. Usually a lot of gators behind them in the spring/summer though, so not sure if I'd do that in a kayak

If you were in a kayak, there are some ponds to the left of the canal right after you pass fisherman's retreat. Always figured you catch a few reds back there.

You should be able to catch some bass and reds in the canals close to the launch. You could probably head to the dams and catch some crabs too.

Just look at a map of the area around the landing. There's some good shite around there. I've yet to find a bad spot there. Either the fish were biting or they weren't.

I might be making a trip down there Saturday.

If you go in a boat I'd go across de Cade towards Raccouci, but take a right u-turn right before you get to Raccouci. From there just pick a canal and you'll be good.

My camps in that area and pretty much any canal around there will have some bass and reds.

I know my way around Mechant, Sister Lake, and Mud Lake pretty good. I thought Slick was talking about yak fishing. I have a pretty good spot for that in Cocodrie.

Gonna be a boat trip, but I'll let you know. Should have room depending on who I go with and what we take.

Maybe we can burn some rich man gas. I don't think you've met my friend who is a dentist. He got a sweet rig, perfect for out there.

Interesting fishing hole sounds interesting. Is this place aluminum bass boat friendly? I've been dying to go somewhere that I can get in bass and reds.
