It's time for Payton to call in a favor to his mentor

If Payton asked Bill Parcells to coach the Saints for one year while he is suspended, would Parcells do it? I think he might and he should at least make the call.

I think we have two pretty capable guys on the staff to handle it for a year. Don't need all of that extra circus.

That would be epic and one of the only scenarios that I would be ok with. (Gruden)

Serious question....does the coach have to be someone from within, like an interim coach?

I don't see why it's such a crazy idea. Vitt acted as head coach while Payton was injured last year and Vitt is suspended as well. Spags can do it and that would be ok. I think bringing in Parcells would be a move which could bring some excitement during this terrible time in Saints history.

Why is this such a bad idea?

SP gets no salary, so Saints can pay.

BP could stand in and guarantee that SP doesn't lose his job

BP would be a HC equivalent of P Manning.

Don't reject out of hand.

Looks like Sean Payton had the same idea.

It's proof that Payton reads TigerDroppings.

I guess that's what Mularkey was doing when he drew up that game plan for the Giants?
