What's the best way to sink a brush pile?

I've got the ole Christmas tree plus some limbs/brush I want to sink. Yall use cable, rope, nylon? Does it even matter? I also need to incorporate some decent weight as I am on the TN river & there's a decent to kick arse flow. I've been putting this off too long. In the mornings when I'm leaving for work, it's crazy action out there & just sucks getting in the car! Looking forward to the responses, hopefully I'm not over thinking something simple. TIA

Nylon or twine from a crawfish sack. Tie to the tree and a bucket of quick-crete.

if you can stand it up in something and set it.

if you tie onto it, but be prepared to lose more baits. They dont come out of rope.

Tie a few cynder blocks to your wife and tell her to hold on to the tree.

I use nylon, but it will eventually rot out, but I figure the brush will too eventually. I've used cable and other assorted wire that I've had laying around.

Cinder blocks or old work out weights work well. Porcelain toilets work great too. If you have some buckets you can mix some Ready Mix in them wit a u bolt and make your own.

I've always heard of using quikcrete in a 5gallon bucket with the tree standing up in it. If you wanted to suspend it at a certain level then cinder blocks and a length of rope/wire/cable could be used. There's also these plans on the internet for making some structure out of pvc pipe that got a lot of good reviews.

I actually have an old toilet on my back porch Did some remodeling, and of course the porch seemed like a great spot (if u knew where I live u wouldn't think twice). But seriously, this is all great feedback, pretty sure I have some cinder blocks around. You see!! That is why I read this board, u guys are so eager to help. That and the funny stuff (tarpon rodeo shenanigans, green jeans, black panther, get a judge) I could go on, but u guys know. Great stuff as always guys, thanks.

I made these last weekend.

Also for sinking trees - collect any large plastic bottle you can find - 2 liters, milk jugs, etc. cut top off fill with concrete. Take a wire hanger and bend it to make a loop on one end, and bend the ends at a 90 for anchors and insert into the wet concrete mix. Tie as many as you need to your trees.

Smooth, I wouldn't admit that either.

I was a resident for a short period of time. I lived on the hwy that ran along the Tenn River. Cant remember what it was.

I was floored at the fact you could see the bottom of a river when I got there

By the time anything rots out the tree will be water-logged and sink itself. The weight is really just to keep it down until that happens.
