Where to get Ghost Chili in Baton Rouge?
Posted by jeepfreak on 3/19/12 at 8:26 pm00
Anyone know where I can procure these gems? Been dying to toss a few of these in my sauce piquant.

After seeing the guys veins pop out on youtube after eating one, I think it is best to just walk away from the chili.

link?
The veins in his arms were sticking out and he was sweating like it was 140 outside.
I think it was a Ghost chili.

If it's the same one I saw, the guy ate one of the whole chili's raw. I'm going to dice one up and dilute it with about 4 gallons of sauce piquant. I do like some heat!
ETA: I'd also like to drop one in a bottle of vodka for about a week and serve bloody mary's from Hell at the bar.

Well, as most people know, a craving+internet=trouble. I just ordered seeds. I'll have 8-10 plants producing by mid-summer. In the meantime, I need to find some in town. Guess I'll try whole foods.

I had heard one of those beef jerky stores around town had some at one point. My neighbor had said it was either the one near Bass Pro or the Tanger outlets. It's been a while since I've heard that, so not sure if those places are even still open.

I tried one once. The mehanics made me do it as a dare when I was 15 working for my uncle. Couldn't taste for two weeks.

It's the one by Bass Pro, but they don't have the peppers. They have a 2oz bottle of The Source hot sauce, which is made from Ghost Chili's. I don't recommend it. I had to sit in the store drinking milk and waiting for my eyes to stop watering before I could drive home...and that was a taste from the tip of a toothpick.

Freeze some, pickle some, cook with some, make Bloody Hell vodka with some, give the rest away.
ETA: Oh, and keep the neighbor kids out of my yard.

I found some dried ones at Kroger and I tossed them in a food processor to grind up, and I use them as I would red pepper flakes on top of pizza.

I'm not suicidal.
The Source is concentrated. I'm just going to add a pepper or 2 to up the heat...diluted.
