The only pack trip in Louisiana I can think of is in Kistachee forest. I think I am going to put together some stuff and do it. It's about 30 miles I think. Would be a good start.

Haha No, I'm not. I used a Nikon Coolpix; which is basically just one of those point and shoots that sorority girls take to the bar. It was light and got the job done. When you're surrounded by beauty a cell phone pic looks cool. My pictures cannot do the scenery justice. You have to see it yourself. Also, Connecticut is hard and rocky as shite.

I hiked the Wild Azalea trail in Kisatchie. It starts at the town hall in Woodworth (where I'm from) and goes 30 miles to the west side of Alexandria. I jogged it to get in shape for the AT. It took me about 9 hours. I would suggest going there about 15 minutes before sun-up with a headlight and taking all day to walk it if you want a chill pace. I have pics of it around here somewhere. It's a fun and easy walk and I'll probably do it again in the future by mountain bike.

Dude I am a plant operator, 30 miles in a day aint chillin.

I think I could do it in a day, but would want to spend one night just in case I couldn't.

When I went I should have worn hunter's orange because people were chasing deer with dogs and I came over a hill and spooked some teenager and he almost shot me. It was worse than anything I encountered on the AT.... Rapides Parish rednecks. They recently banned that in Kisatchie but not sure if it has gone into effect yet.

We camp with the scouts alot. I am trying to think of what I already have that could be used on an overnighter. Wouldn't need much. I couldn't make it in one day like BV suggested.

Mostly think outdoor stuff means firing up a 4wheeler with an icechest on it.

Or Louisiana in general

I went to an event where the commissioner of the LDWF was the guest speaker. He made some crack about effete backpackers. I looked around and noted to myself that the average backpacker was more outdoor savvy and definitely in better shape than almost everyone there.

Picture doesn't do this justice. An entire mountain side covered in white flowers. It looked like snow.

Never. It's much safer than living in BR.

So you said the only flight you took was to come back home from Maine...how did you get to Georgia? Drove with some friends, Greyhound, etc?

What time of year did you leave?

Any females out there?
