Keeper league question

I am playing in a roto 5x5 10 team keeper league. This is the 1st year of the league so there are no keepers this year. We are able to keep 8 players from our team. My question is do I even risk drafting guys like Bryce Harper, trout, etc to keep for next year or should I wait and see what kind of production they are going to bring? Also how would you break up your keepers. Would you go 3 stud offensive guys 3 stud sp and 2 cl?
