1 recruiting wasn’t up to snuff.

2. He failed to develop players.

3. Fans had turned away from the program.

Mr. SEC (scroll down some)

South Carolina's Darrin Horn on the chopping block.

Oh, you don't think it is relevant to LSU's Basketball Coaching prowess?

What does an article about South Carolina's recently fired coach have to do with LSU? Belongs on the SEC rant.

Trent has an SEC Title. Horn does not.
Trent has rebounded from a lackluster season 2 years ago. Horn has gotten worse.
Trent's team made it to the second round of the conference tourney this year. Horn didn't even get the chance.
Trent is playing in the NIT, Horn hasn't since 2008.

This scenario is IDENTICAL to LSU!

TJ is a poor recruiter!

He does not develop players!

And fans do not turn our!

Of course, we LSU fans, tend to be in denial. Furthermore, our incompetent Athletic Director will defend TJ to the end, or until the AD loses his job.

Not sure I agree with the not developing players part....how much better did Marcus Thornton get?

And I dont think Justin Hamilton was even close to being as good as he was his season compared to the two at Iowa State.

The AD made a big hIre with TJ. Obviously it hasn't panned out but we opened the wallet. When TJ signed his deal his salary was 1.5 mill.

Compare that to Jim Boeheim 1.6 mill and Roy Williams at 1.2. People who say the AD and/or university aren't committed to hoops are dumb as frick. We paid a big time salary, just had millions in renovations, etc.

Stop talking out of your anus.

I'm not here to defend nor argue merit for or against over the entire tenure. And do think TJ deserves next season.

But, I've said it before and will say it again, 2008-2009's LSU Mens Hoops outright SEC crown, behind an Iron 5 starting unit, and mediocre primarily two man bench, was the finest HC job by an LSU Hoops HC going back 20+ years(over three HCs), regardless of having the SEC-POY in Thornton, and very underrated tenured-starter Jr #2 go-to-guy in Taz.

Well coached and overachieved, that team's starters barely were spelled for a few brief breathers every night, and well-spaced timeouts.

I have that season, along with 1987-1988 Brickmason team that dug out the hole, went dancing, and was only knocked out by G-Town prayer off glass. Then, the 1992-1993 Geert/Gipson/Owens team making the Dance when expected to flop after Shaq went 1st pick after Jr yr, and everyone seeing Dale's recruiting start to fade(sans one last gasp Livingston/Henderson signing)..

As the three greatest overachieving teams in the last 25 yrs.

Thats bullshite, that team had 3 NBA players and a fringe NBA player in the starting line up. That team was really good but losing to teams we had no buisness losing to cost us a higher seed. We still got the shaft, but it wouldnt have been in question with certain losses.

Are kidding me? That 2008-2009 team had mainly two go-to-guys carry the scoring load, had piece-meal two man bench of major-limited skillsets, played almost the entire game unless in foul trouble or fouling out.

Wins a damn SEC title OUTRIGHT, capped by an epic road win vs taller UK. If you want to talk of sqaundered title yr, go check Brady's 2000 Sw-16 team not winning the outright crown into a four-way tie..that team had some talent, height, depth, and balanced starting unit.

The 2008-2009 team were running on fumes by the season's end. That Vandy team that came into the PMAC late, and won, was a dangerous tourney team that could run an offensive set through a legit 7' ft Center that could play with his back to the basket, and had some help with size too..

That Tiger team gave an all-time great UNC team it's only real game of the entire dance(with the final score totally deceptive)..again..this due to being too small and lacking in depth by the end of 40 full.

Are you really gonna call Chris Johnson, Taz, and Bo, NBA players?

You're ungrateful!

1. Johnson recruited a top 25 class last year with a mcdonalds all american in it.

2. A lot of TJ's recruits are younger but this is a pretty valid criticism.

3. This is why Brady got fired. You cant turn away from a program when you werent there in the first place.

I wanted Grant or Drew. But the HC you insist is worse than an idiot has an Sweet 16 and league title in 5 Nevada seasons, a Sweet 16 in four tries at Stanford, and an SEC outright title in 5 LSU years..

Is his entire body of work worthy of keeping his job? TBD next year. But, his career high watermarks clearly make your slanderous hyperbole out to be ridiculous nonsense.
