Ascension Parish Coach Fired?

I don't think they fired him yet, but apparently there's some serious mental abuse going on... Enough to get psychiatrists involved.

Bob Lemons was one of the top high school coaches in Louisiana for the last 20 years. Coach Lemons led St. Amant to 3 or 4 State Titles at the 5A level, and another state runner-up. Their last state championship was 2005. Coach Lemons always used a team approach, and won many titles without riding one stud pitcher to the championship while ruining the kid's arm and career. He never put his own record or accolades ahead of the kid's best interest.

As mentioned earlier, parents have been trying for the last 5-6 years to get him removed. Dutchtown High pulled most of St. Amant's talent away, so the recent St. Amant teams haven't won as much as they used to, but coaching is not the problem. Typical "travel ball dads" get their feelings hurt that their child isn't the next Ben Sheets and march to the school board to try and fire the coach.

Choupique19, you might wanna ask Ben Sheets how he feels about Bob Lemons.

Man , my peewee football coach was chewing us out up one side and down the other when we played in the mid seventies. Seems like I turned out all right.

If this is truth the next one fired should be that douche of a football coach they have there. At least Lemons actually WON something and has St.Amant well respected in baseball. Screw all those crying arse boys. Cut em.

Lemons was a first class prick. He was not a good coach, he merely manages talent. When STA doesn't have it they suck, when they do they are above average. Lemons deserved what he got.

3 State Titles, 1 State Runner-Up, another State Semi-Finalist (where they lost to Jordan Rittner and Mason Katz) at the 5A level in about a 14 year run is a little bit more than "above average".

Two of those championships were before Dutchtown and those teams were loaded. Having Reid Brignac helped win that third one. Then riding Delatte until his arm fell off for the semi-final appearance was disgusting. So, I would say above average is about right. A retarded monkey would have had a hard time screwing up what Lemons was handed.

Coach Lemons did not resign. He was told he had to or else. He is a quality person who kept to himself and did not let others in. That is why he was successful. He coached the players and not their mentally weak parents. Jart Fart or whatever your name is you must be one of those who did not play. You are from STA do not hide and deny it. I have never heard anyone not affiliated with STA say anything bad about the guy. It is a wonder how he won 4 Championships and was runnerup once and now knows nothing about baseball. Bob Lemons is St. Amant Baseball and will be hard to replace. No one will want that job.
