or something like that

NCAABB is slowly losing some luster and while i love a good a cinderella every once in awhile, this year needs a close game between two of the big dogs

last year's butler/uconn game was atrocious and honestly looked like a high school basketball game

the year before that a mediocre duke team won it all by beating another weak butler team

year before that UNC was just wayyyyyy better than everyone

this year we need a big name matchup that delivers on its billing

If Kentucky wins it all this year...

2008 - Kansas
2009 - North Carolina
2010 - Duke
2011 - Connecticut

That would be 5 straight years of an absolute power winning it all.

I know Connecticut is new to the scene compared to the rest, but still.

Indiana in 2012?

If UNC wins the title this year, they will have the same record as the 2010 Duke team.

What this tournament needs is some free-flowing offense. Butler employs the Jamie Dixon strategy of fouling 3 times on every possession so eventually the refs just have to call a looser game. That's why you see these awful 54-51 games with Butler involved. Thankfully, that can't happen this year.

Also, I think that we will see a lot of 6 over 3, 12 over 5 upsets, but the top 8 teams will advance far.

There's almost no way North Carolina, Missouri, and Kentucky won't make the Elite 8.

I watched it. I just felt bad for the kids. But honestly, basketball is basketball. Sports are sports.

It was the national championship. I was glued to the TV.

UNC and UK I agree with, but Mizzou will have some tricky mu's in their bracket.

Possible games vs UF, Marquette, Louisville, Michigan State.

That bracket is guard oriented, and full of 3-point shooting teams. I'd say MSU has a better shot of getting there, than Mizzou does.

Well Mizzou couldn't play Louisville or Michigan State until the Elite 8.

No one on Mizzou's side of the bracket can give them the trouble inside that could potentially hurt them. Mizzou might run a train on Florida in the 3rd round.

Marquette could potentially give them trouble, but I think they get past them too. Missouri is just really, really good.

In my bracket, MU and KU are going to face off in the Final 4.

ETA: Nevermind. The Wikipedia bracket had wrong regions. Damn, that would've been exciting.

Why do you say this? Florida is one of the few teams that can neutralize Mizzou's guard advantage. That's an awful matchup for Mizzou IMO.

Again, Marquette will be tough for Mizzou. Crowder is as tough a matchup for Mizzou as anyone. I really don't know how far to put Mizzou in this tourney. I don't think they got a very good draw.

Missouri has the best group of guards in the country. So no, Florida does not neutralize that advantage. Florida will pressure them up and down the floor, but it's not like that's something that will completely disrupt Missouri.

The team who will beat Missouri will do it because they have a strong inside game.

Missouri got a great draw. Of course, Marquette will be a tough game for them (if Marquette even gets there), but in the Sweet 16, all the games are tough.

ETA: Of the eight 1-2 seeds, I'd say Missouri has the 3rd best shot at making the Elite 8, behind North Carolina and Kentucky.
