Cheap replacement for nicks enough said. Two decent guards cheaper cause of age, more mature.

Yeah, a lot of teams will be turned off by Grubb's age, he's a whopping 13 months older than Nicks.

Grubbs actually younger than Nicks. Mathis was the #1 rated guard in the NFL last year by Pro Footbal Focus.

As thrill said neither of these will be much cheaper than Nicks at all.

I dunno what this guy might cost but here's a blurb...

Geoff Schwartz, OT/ OG

When the Carolina Panthers opted against tendering Schwartz, there was a collective gasp from the PFF team. Sure Ron Rivera wasn’t in charge when Schwartz managed to finish 2010 with a PFF grade of +12.3 despite playing two positions, but it wouldn’t have been hard to watch some tapes and see he’s got more talent than anything they can currently put out on the right side of their line. Schwartz offers the kind of versatility and talent that brings to mind a poor man’s Marshal Yanda; good enough to make him the best right tackle available and possibly the best value guard too. He has a very real chance to be this year’s Evan Mathis for a team with a diligent scouting department.

With the Saints next man up approach right now I'd say most likely is Tennant to center and dlP to G while paying them BOTH less than $1.1mil TOTAL

Has Tennant fallen completely off the assumption as a future starter on the line? I didn't think he did that bad last camp, I thought Kruetz just seemed like a great move and De La Puente looked very good in the preseason.

Oh how everyone was so wrong. (myself included)

Oh and FO never makes mistakes, we must praise and slob their knobs.

they've had whiffs fo sho but the vast majority of teams/fans would slobber to have a front office with the batting avg. we have had the past six years in player decisions.

No slobber but trust earned. Good kool-aid served.

I like Nicks a lot, but I don't blame him one bit. Go out and get your zillions, bro. We just can't pay him like he deserves. I'm okay with that, though. I trust the front office to find someone to replace him.

I wouldn't be totally against a Jeff Saturday and move DLP to Guard next to bushrod.
