The local WalMarks has them marked down to $199. Looks like it comes with a 3 dot scope. Dont own a bow or crossbow and was thinking about starting with a crossbow. Would this be a decent starter model?

You dirty filthy low life POS how dare you think about trying to kill a deer by legal means other than a stick and a string. Real hunters use spears!

Atleast this is the opinion of some on here.

I bought the Barnett Ghost and love it I'm sure the Horton is a good one too.

At 35, i feel that i can fall in the old men category. I went ahead and picked it up, put it together and will be ordering some bolts for it. It seems decent. I think it will serve the purpose as an entry level crossbow. Spoke afterwards with a friend that runs a bow shop and says for $200, there isnt anything on the market comparable.

Whatever you do pay cash for it. The feds like to track crossbow buyers back to thier trailers then bust up their clandestine meth lab. If you use a card or check you will be leaving them a paper trail..

Yeah, came in a box in about 4 parts. Had to mount the stock to the bow, then the scope, and quiver base.
