Is this true? With the tourney being In New Orleans, we should have represented better than that. This is kinda surprising but I think the fans have spoken with their (our) lack of support. People will support basketball when they are WINNING. If they are average, they draw the same amount of fans like a losing team does. I've heard that there was only a handfull (whatever that means) of LSU fans there. Hickey said that he was dissapointed in the turnout. Does anybody know anyone who went that can give a real account of how many LSU fans that actually were there?

Don't know about that number, but every where you turned downtown, all you saw was blue. it was crazy, didn't see many LSU fans at all.

Fans respond to winning/ losing. Im betting if we hadnt died the last 3 games, we would have had a huge buzz going and seen at least a few k fans there. I dont blame fans personally, I just see attendance in general as representative of where a team/program is at the current time.

its baseball season....if the sec tourney for baseball was in Nola, we would have thousands of fans there every day. basketball= way down the list after football and baseball for our fan base.

that said if we hadn't limped into the tournament, I think we would have had a lot more.

fan-dom goes thru cycles.......when you have a life, so called, you don't need to live vicariously thru young gladiators ! when you don't 'have a life' (involved in something bigger), you do ! that's just human frailty and existence. we make a whole culture of it in america. i've been an lsu fan since 1965, and the ups and downs are a real reflection of this exciting, but OFTEN disappointing existence. we can be proud of these young men, win or lose, and the coaches that work with them day in and day out. if winning is everything all the time, that type of existence is barely removed from the coach on the sideline who slugs an opposing team's player ! the playing field is level except for the way the media perverts it, in our favor or otherwise; so i guess it's not level, but our shorts lives are like a vapor; enjoy it whilst it's here.

This, it was Rupp Arena south yesterday. The arena seats 18,500. I say probably 17000 UK fans, 200-300 lsu fans and the rest were other SEC schools.

The game was at noon on a Friday.

I know unemployment in Obama's America is bad, but not THAT bad. Some of us still do have jobs.

I was one of maybe 11of the supposed 30 students that had tickets...Other than us and the teams parents, not many other fans.

Weak fan base not worthy to wear our colors
Young team deserves better.

We would have had more fans had it not tipped off at noon on a workday, but the fan base is weak as evidenced by attendance in PMAC this season.
