What an abortion of a movie. Turned it off an hour in. Anyone feel the same? Had so much potential but looked as if it was directed and written by a fifth grader. And the acting??? woof...

Only Avenger movie I haven't seen.

Heard it was pretty bad by a trusted source. He said to run away from this movie as fast as you can.

Take it from me, I am usually good at turning my brain off and enjoying a nice super hero movie full of action, but this one was just bad, man.

thought it was Thor, which was easily the most boring marvel movie.

Cap just didnt have a lot going for the film. I think it was "lets crank it out so we can do the avengers now"

The Hulk was worse. I hated how his strike team had to include every ethnicity, and it wasnt reallu the Nazis he was fighting.

I thought it was decent. Not nearly as good as Iron Man or Incredible Hulk, but not bad.

On a related note, early reviews seem to suggest The Avengers may be the best Marvel film yet. Take that for what it's worth

I thought it was like Thor...a serviceable comic book movie. Formulaic, but entertaining. Forgettable, but nothing egregiously wrong with it.

If you think it's an "abortion," I think you need to watch more movies.

I think this movie told the origin of Captain America as well as it could be told.

I liked it a lot more, but this x100. It was competently made and other than the Nazi omission, quite faithful to the book.

If you like the character, you like the movie. Nothing wrong with that.

I thought it was good. It told the origin of Capt America really well. It also did a good job of linking Rogers to Howard Stark.

People liked Iron Man so much because of the personality portrayed by RDJ. Tony Stark's arrogance and burlesque attitude is a lot easier to portray on the big screen.

Ghost Rider 2 is much worse than Captain America.

I'm going to give that one to X-men: First Class.

Followed by IM1 then a distant 2nd to that is IM2 after that looking back in hindsight... the ones that I have seen have sucked.

Avengers looks like TFDotM. A lot of fun action but no substance. As far as comic films goes, DC/WB/Nolan has set the bar and it's really high. That's why DC/WB gave the keys to the DCU to Nolan two years ago. (After, Green Lantern was already in the can.) They are taking no shortcuts with the MofS:Superman. Snyder with the filming and Nolan watching every step made. It's been filming for almost a year now and it's not set for release until next summer. After that I have a feeling they are going to take a swing at Wonder Woman, with the Clash of the Titan team heading that one, seeing as Diana is an "Amazon." Followed by The Flash or, depending how the comics have been selling with the revamp DCU, Swamp Thing. From what I have heard the new Swamp Thing has been very well written so far.

DC/WB have already stated that they wouldn't mind having a JLA but will only do it where none of the other already made character universes do not intertwine. In other words Nolan's Batman will not be part of a JLA.

Going to be tough to top X-men. That may be the best super hero I have seen next to Dark Knight

X-men: First Class has substance. Avengers looks like it will go as follows:

"Who are these people? I WORK ALONE!"

"It's part of the Avenger Initiative."

"I WORK ALONE!"

"You're all douche bags!"

"The worlds in trouble!"

"Okay, we'll work together this one time."

"The world is saved!"

"Okay, maybe we should stay together as a team."

"YEA! Happy ending! (Or is it?!?!?!?!?!)"

Captain America wasn't bad. A little hokey, but not bad. Thor was the worst in my opinion. It wasn't really bad either, just kinda cartoony.
