getting a new puppy and have questions

So I'm supposed to be getting my new puppy on Friday. My sons been fighting strep. What should I do to keep BOTH of them healthy.

Strep goes away in a week.

I'll definitely keep them a part, just to make sure, I'm thinking of finding an old shirt of mine. That way she can get used to my smell. Or is that a bad idea

Most illnesses are not communicable between dogs and humans. In the slight chance that strep if one of the few that are, don't let your kid make out with the dog and you should be fine.

I already have a crate, toys, food, n etc for her. I can't come home at lunch to let her out. Any suggestions.

Get ready to clean the crate and the dog everyday bc a puppy left in a crate all day will be shitty.

I have 3 collars n leashes. It's a yorki/west highland terrier. I can't have big dogs. N I already have a vet appt on Saturday
