Turley wants to know what Brees knows about bounties

“I would like to know personally what he knew about this bounty system because he’s not only in charge of the safety of his players in that locker room in New Orleans, he’s supposed to be in those meetings responsible for all players across the league as it pertains to those types of issues,” Turley told Craig Shemon of Yahoo! Sports Radio. “That’s what I would like to know. Where has the union been in all of this and that’s what really needs to be found out.”
Really? Everybody has an opinion now.

I think it's a good question.

Drew knew everything about it.
Just like Aaron Rodgers knows about his defense doing it, and Ben Roethlisberger knows about his defense doing it, and so on and on...
People dont understand that it goes on with damn near every team. Saints were just soo cocky and dumbassed to get caught doing it.

I agree, but I wouldn't classify Turley as an advocate for player saftey. It's just funny how everyone is suddenly concerned about this now that the whistle has been blown.

Drew Brees wasn't in team meetings for the defense. Come on!!!
Maybe Brees knew about it, maybe he didn't, I don't know. But he wasn't in those meetings. Turley knows better than this.

I still love Turley. That was the most nut flexing ever done on the field

Just wanted to drop in and say that Turley was just on WJOX in Birmingham, and said he compares bountygate to Vick's dogfighting ring, and that Goodell should look to that for precedent when it comes to punishment from the league. He also called out Brees for not being a whistleblower if he knew about it, since he sits on the executive committee of the union. The podcast should be up on their website in a bit if anyone wants to listen.

In the last few years - the only time that significant attention has been paid to player safety - I've definitely read plenty of articles with Turley in them. He's certainly as much of an advocate as any other retired player I've seen.
