SoS’s Power Rankings 3/1/12
1. Kentucky
2. Florida
3. Vanderbilt
4. Alabama
5. Tennessee
6. Miss St
7. LSU
8. Arkansas
9. Ole Miss
10. Auburn
11. Georgia
12. South Carolina
General Overview
Last time these two met it took overtime to decide a winner. The Tigers of LSU came out victorious at home in early January. This time around, LSU is fighting for post-season play while Auburn comes in losing 6 of their last 7. LSU could finish at .500 in leage play with an away victory Saturday. The CBS televised game should be an exciting one.
Schedule and SEC stakes
At 4-11 Auburn is near the bottom of the SEC. LSU can finish anywhere from 6th in the league to 9th depending on the outcome of a few games this weekend. LSU will be playing on Thursday of the SEC tournament and want to get a few wins to lock up an NIT bid. Auburn will also be playing on the opening day of the SEC tourney but will likely go home after the tournament with no post season birth.

Eh.. Go tigers. I don't really see how this team goes on the road and wins at Auburn.
Biggest game of the season for the basketball team. Win, and they can stay in the talk about a possible NIT bid. Lose and they can forget post season play. I'd imagine losing 3, possibly 4 of their last 4 wouldn't look too great on their NIT resume.

LSU packs it in after Wed night and loses another one on the road. I don't even remember what it feels like to follow a team in March madness.

LOL, what's up shoe?
Good chance we suffer a third consecutive losing record in conference play. Our boy Brady never even pulled that off. No worries, there's always next year.

No worries, at least we'll have Gathers and Felix next year. Oh wait, nevermind....
Sorry, Wed might nearly sent me off the deep end. It's hard to recall a more frustrating three year stretch in LSU basketball.
