Management or Cost for the tournaments?

Haven't played there this year yet but umpires is usually high on the list. Will be interesting to see if that is better this year.

The tournaments are normally packed. Not many teams are signed up. Is it to early in the season?

It's still early but was so much negativity going around last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see it starting to affect them. I hope they get things going in the right direction. Would be a shame to see that nice complex flounder.

What ticked a lot of people off last year is moving games scheduled for Cypress Mounds to Oak Villa at last minute. Lot of people including myself weren't happy about driving from out of town to go play at Oak Villa when plan and big check were sent to play at Cypress Mounds. Even though the umpiring was sub par.

I heard about that one. Had a friend from Lafayette who was pissed.

Oak Villa
The last time I played there a woman in the stands was ragging the ump, he threw here out, she wouldn't leave, he stopped the game, cops were called, cops came and asked her to leave, she refused, cop went up and detained her, other fans (of the same team) got all riled up about the male cop placing his hands on a female, they took pictures of his badge and threatened to report him. About a 45 minute delay.
The time before someone stopped on the road between the softball complex and the basketball court across the road and fired off about 20 rounds in the air.
That ended my softball career.

As an umpire, you have to realize that "ragging" by the fans is part of the job. Unless the language gets vulgar or threatening, you have to tune it out. Coaches are different. There are rules about that.
