RG 3 being called "smart"

Listened to houston radio guys in the middle of a ramble talking about it. Did not get any particulars or quotes. Just people coming away impressed that RG3 was so intelligent.
Nobody was stupid enough to say "smart for a black guy." Was this a national topic? After him breaking down plays on NFL network with Marriuchi.
I am pulling for the guy. He is intelligent because he is a decent guy and from what I hear raised well. He is an Army brat if I am not mistaken.

Question #1 on the Wonderlic test is...
1) Spell the word Wonderlic.

He's 6'2'' 223. Not exactly small.

Don't know. I am sure this is not a Vince Young situation.

i know how to google to check the spelling. I just didn't feel like it. So his result wasn't made public?

The Wonderlic is certainly more of an indicator of intelligence than earning a master's degree in about four years of school while devoting hours upon hours to football.

Don't be naive.

Id say the wonderlic isn't a decent indicator of anything...
But if you listen to RGIII speak during interviews you can tell he's a bright guy.

Sunday, when Fresno State wide reciever Devon Wylie (5'9", 187 pounds) was getting ready to run the 40, one of commentators mentioned that folks would be "shocked at how fast he would run" and "he's faster than he looks". Wylie then ran an unofficial 4.37 and the commentator couldn't wait to say "I told you, I told you". 4.37 is impressive but not shocking for a smallish wide reciever, so you may be wondering what the big deal was. Oh, did I mention that Wylie is White?

You say that, yet you think the Wonderlic is the be-all, end-all indicator of intelligence? Have you listened to his interviews? It's obvious that he's pretty smart. Not sure what would make you think otherwise.

Also when being interviewed he said Stanford recruited him. Don't think they can take dummys either.

I don't think that. I do think that if I am trying to learn how smart someone is and I have their grades and an opportunity to find out the wonderlic, you can bet your arse I'm going to find out the wonderlic, especially if a lot of my money is on the line. It's not the end all be all, but people give grades away. don't be naive.

Dude, I've spoken with a lot of successful people who sound intelligent when they are just having conversation, but when it comes to being able to analyze shite (and quickly at that), they are not that bright.
Besides, even if he is not bright, so what? He can still be a great quarterback.
But don't tell me an NCAA quarterback is smart just because he got good grades and sounds smart.

To get this out of Stephen A. Smith turf and back to football... Pat Haden was a Rhodes scholar and sucked as an NFL qb.
The important question is: What is his football iq? Meaning -- can he make the right read IMMEDIATELY?
