Trying to find a place that can handle a group of 10-12, get us in and out reasonably quickly and not freak out about separate checks. Somewhere within 15-20 minutes distance of I-610 at Hwy 288.

I'm not super familiar with much south of Rice Village. But I have eaten at Candelari's on West Holcombe at Kirby. I'd recommend calling any place you decide on first at least to give them fair warning. Also, how much per person are you looking at? Candelari's is pretty middle of the road. Certainly better than an Olive Garden but it's not 5 star fine dining.

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen is just W of the stadium on 610. They have boiled crawfish now. Enjoy your visit.

I almost never recommend the Pappa's restaurants but given the situation of needing 12 handled, they may be a good bet. The Pappa's brand is just over done and is everywhere. Probably a safe choice for that big of a group though.

Got a suggestion of Pappa's BBQ at I-45 and 610, but I would prefer Pappadeaux. As mentioned, kind of oversold over the years, but handle groups pretty adeptly, and >>> the true national chain choices that seem to be nearby. Thanks!

Whoever suggested Pappas BBQ must not be a real good friend of yours. Terrible food. If you want to do BBQ go to Goode company off Kirby...counter service so separate checks aren't a problem. Its not the best BBQ in the world, but its a damn site better than Pappas.

There is a Pappacitos right by Reliant on 610 by Cavenders.

Pappa's is easily the worst BBQ I've had in TX. Horrid.

Should have just brought everyone to Frenchies two blocks from the stadium. i bet they would have left happy.

Haven't gone yet. I think the concern was whether the rodeo crowd would be jamming the nearby venues. Haven't heard great things about Pappa's BBQ, so we'll drop that idea. Thanks!
