Me and my wife are probably 3-5k upside down
On our house, based off what
The homes around us are going for and will
Be looking to move in 3-5 yrs. but with the housing
Market down and low interest rates we where
Thinking ab making a move now. So what's the smarter
Move? Take a small hit now buy a bigger house with bigger upside or build More equity into our current house and build later?

Just curious. What would be an unsafe
Margin of error?

You look like a great candidate for a FSBO. 3-5 upside down could swing positive if you sell yourself, and it sounds like you aren't in a big hurry.

So my suggestion is to test the FSBO market and if it works out mortgage on the place that you want. Mortgage rates are so low right now everyone should be thinking about getting a place to keep for the full 30 years.

You've been saying to get into as much house as possible right? Why?

Just seems it would be better to be able to save or retirement, kids, etc and have a smaller house.

Nothing to add here but just wanted to say thanks for introducing "catdick" as an insult. Never seen that one before, cant wait to spring it on someone at work tomorrow.
