I do not post much on here or anywhere on TD but I had to say this. I watched some of the Kentucky game today and I was very impressed by Davis. In the first 5-10 minutes of the game he had two or three blocks, 3-4 rebounds, and made a 3-point play that very few players his height can make. He took his man off of the dribble from the top of the key got fouled and on the way down made the lay up. I know that some people do not like the whole tank thing BUT the hornets need to get this young man. Dude can straight up ball!! i know i know tl;dr and :csb:

I think he would be a good pick up, but he isnt the type of player you say pick or bust. There are some other players in this early draft I would be happy to get.

Davis is the clearcut 1. Dude is awesome, a franchise changer IMO.

I really like TRob to be a very solid player.

Drummond is playing pretty well tonight against Cuse even though UCONN's looking bad so far.

ETA: Ended up with 17 pts 14 rebs and 3 blks

4.Jones

He's been more disappointing than any projected lottery pick this year.

ya, davis could really be a franchise changer...he is doin some pretty impressive things as a freshman on a stacked team. He doesn't get the ball as much as some of the other top picks, but he showed tonight that he can shoot from outside and drive to the rim...everyone already knows about his dunkin and blockin.

T Rob is definitely #2 for me, but i will take Davis' high ceiling and way above the rim play first

That is what pretty much sold me. It was impressive and he will put on some weight as he gets older so he will be able to bang with the big boys. I really hope the Hornets get him.

He strikes me as a Kevin Durant-ish type game changer without the sweet jumper. Smaller player that grows into big man and learns both skill sets.

It's invaluable

He's a freak for sure. But tanking is like surrendering. And it doesn't even guarantee you the top pick. Rarely does the worst team get the number 1 pick.

whether or not you are for tanking, having the worst record gives you the best chance at the #1 pick...what has happened in previous years doesn't matter.

anthony davis has a complete skill set...definitely agree that he will be a game changer. no one else in the draft has that kind of potential imo

And when you don't get the #1 pick? Do you get a reach-around as consolation for being a loser bitch?

I know all about the gambler's fallacy, but there is no guarantee in tanking and I'd rather just win games to promote a culture of winning in the franchise.

I ran the numbers through 2004 a while back and being #6 has had better top 3 results than #1 in recent history and being #2 has been terrible. I still want as low a spot as possible in case the fix isn't in, but especially if Stern ends up getting $350 - $375 for the Hornets when the asking price is $340, I fully expect a top 3 pick if we finish 6th or worse.

do we get a gold medal for winning 25 games instead of 17? That is a culture of winning? This is the NBA. Put together a talented team with a good coach (Monty) and they won't forget about winning...especially not because we won 8 more games to become the fifth worst team in the NBA.

I want everyone on the team to work hard to improve and get better...this team lacks the talent to win consistently right now. All i'm saying is it should stay that way for the remainder of this short season

I agree. I made the same comparison when I saw him for the first time. Got torched for it though.

Its not exact.

But as good as Davis has been, his role in Calipari's offense has actually limited him.

He has a more diverse skillset than the guy that just stands around the rim and waits for dumpoffs and offensive rebounds. It shows a little more in his HS tape
