But seriously, nice gun.

Any particular reason you chose the Aimpoint, over maybe Eotech or Trijicon?

Nice looking build! Congrats.

So how long before you start building another one???
I made it about 5-6 months before I couldn't help myself.

I assume you have a set of DW's going by your avatar. I'll trade you my Mapex set and throw in a Remington .22 bolt action for the DWs and the AR.........

Wife asked the same question in an disapproving manner

Since I already have an AK-47, I was thinking of just getting a new complete upper receiver in 7.62 along with the mags

Sort of off topic but what are some of the top shelf AR manufactures these days?

How does one get started? Where do you buy the parts?

LWRC and H&K are two of the higher end names. I guess Barrett would be in there as well.

ETA: how could I forget Colt.

Youtube has tons of videos on how to build one. You dont need many tools (if you only build the lower and just buy a pre-assembled upper receiver like I did)

It's much cheaper to build rather than buy outright.

ETA: as far as parts, I ordered all of my lower receiver parts from Palmetto St. armory. I got the upper receiver direct from Bravo Co. and the sight/furniture came from Cheaper than dirt
