Any OB brethren in the Shreveport area that might be able to recommend a fiscally-conscious shop/store that accepts FFL transfers?

My favorite shop (Cash In A Flash Pawn) charges $50, which I believe is completely ridiculous for the 5-minute transaction.

I buy most guns online, because I can find deals, but the excessive FFL transfer fees throw that in the drain.

Not sure what you include in Shreveport area, but D C Pawn in Minden charges $25 as well.

Man, it's been a VERY long time since I thought about the Shreveport Pirates. Once endured a horrible thunder storm at Fair Grounds Field trying to watch a Pirate game....

Ha. Yeah, they are a blip on the nostalgia radar. I think I won season tickets for getting straight A's in elementary school... never used them.

j5geaux,
Here's one of numerous websites that has a listing of FFL holders by zip code. Can't swear to it's accuracy as I see that the only FFL holder where I live is not listed.

I went with Lorant's.. surprisingly they were only $30.

They're usually overpriced for everything they sell.

Just got my lower receiver for my first Ar build shipped to Big Al's Guns in Pineville. $25 and out of there in 5-10 minutes. Security is a no go for transfers. I cant help but think of all of the easy money they miss out on by not doing transfers.

$10!! That's amazingly low:-)
Doesn't he also do gunsmithing work as well? If so, do you know how good his work is?

I was referred to him from another website when looking for an FFL. I had a Tikka T3 shipped to him from Bud's Gun Shop online, and along with the $10 transaction, it went extremely smooth. To answer your question, he does excellent gunsmith work. I have not used him aside from the FFL transfer, but I looked at his work and it is very good, and detailed. He is a very nice guy, will definately be using him in the future.
