Too early. He might be too big for what Chavis wants though. Unless he has some great lateral speed, which is what Chavis wants mostly in a LB. I do think we need a MLB in this class as a need, IMO. Granier is a huge question mark.

Claiborne might get the offer over Jones. Or LSU might just look for someone higher on their board. We'll see...

Claiborne looks like a OLB right now.

If he signs with LSU, I think he grows into a DE.

Good enough of an athlete to play QB...

LA high school coaches tend to put the best athletes on the team at QB so it happens often. A large percentage of the LA players on LSU's roster played QB at some point during their HS careers. Morris Claiborne is an example of one and will be drafted very high.

He's not a qb, at least in the SEC. They put him there this year in an effort to try and win some games, it was comical to watch their pathetic competition try and bring him down.

What's funny is that Jeremy Liggins was much bigger than him in HS and will continue to play QB for LSU. It will be interesting to watch in a few years.

No what would be funny if they tried playing Jones at qb in college.

He is definitely not a QB. The other poster nailed it with the best athlete explanation. He can play LB at LSU because he really is a top notch athlete at that size. I do think DE is where he would end up at LSU. Could be a stud there. I think he'll get offered probably at LB to not upset Beckwith and Williams. Once on campus it's too late and he'll play where he fits best. Also think Claiborne will get offered unless we pull a suprise out of Texas.

Why, because there is a good chance most of the freshmen will start next season?

Not concerned about TCU if we offer. Not the slightest bit threatened by them. They'll be a mid level Big12 school for the next 5-7 years. Not ready for that grind just yet but I do hope they can be successful there. I like Patterson a lot.

His father played at A&M. I hope we offer but I am not sure if he is reciprocating any interest. Film I have seen looks good. Kid is big that's for sure

Would he have a problem qualifying academically? I think that he attended Barbe HS before transferring to Washington-Marion HS where he might have had grade problems. I think that he was the one that Barbe Coach Cutrera spoke highly of his character before the game last year.

His footage on the KPLC Friday night football scoreboard show is always impressive.

Yes, he is a legit 6'3" and 245 lbs. Could easily grow into a DE.

I think he still needs to qualify, but I do think he's LSU/SEC material. Not worried about TCU. Only reason he goes there is if LSU and other big boys don't offer.

Minter was actually playing very well by the end of the season, so I disagree with you.

His dad also played at McNeese St. I think this kid as well as Ishmael Wilson are LSU's to lose.

Hopefully Wilson starts feeling like an Aggie the longer he's committed
