Keeping Ducks Out Of Yard

I've battled this problem off and on as long as I can remember and it looks like it's "on" again right now. Anybody have any tricks for keeping ducks out? Right now I've got a group of about 20 that are absolutely destroying my back yard. After it rains, they start picking the grass out by the roots, in search of God knows what.
A few years ago I tried Liquid Fence repellent and either it worked after one try or it was just a coincidence that they stopped, which they do from time to time. I had some left and decided to spray it last night but I'm not convinced it will work. And it's extremely expensive too. $35 or so dollars for a small container of concentrate. And the smell is horrible. My hands still smell this morning after a shower and 6 hand washings.
Anybody else have any tips?

I have no experience trying to repel ducks, I'm always trying to get the bastards to come to me.

I have an Australian sheperd that would keep them out, I swear this dog knows where the property lines are and rarely ever crosses it. Yard is her territory.

And I thought about the gumbo route. I told my wife I was going to start shooting every single one of them. She wasn't pleased that I said it in front of my 8 year old daughter. But my little girl turned to me and said, "I want to help kill them!"

Food. I raise mallards in my front yard and let them roam. They eat like hogs. When it rains bugs come up and they grub on them. Give em some corn and fill em up and the wont have to dig for food if your gonna let em hang around.
ETA: shoot them and let your daughter help if you dont want them there. Why is that difficult?

Because they live in the neighborhood lake that everyone's yard backs up to. Kids feed the ducks all the time. I don't think many people would take kindly to me killing all of them. Simple enough?

That's my next course of action, although I'm not sure a pellet gun would do it. I've tried a BB gun in the past to try and deter them, but they're too stupid to remember they were just shot a couple of hours later and come right back.

This tape stuff works for geese. I'm sure it would do the same for ducks.
I was bass fishing once and an old timer came out on his porch. His yard was full of geese, and he started shooting at them with an air soft gun until they left his yard
