I'm going to Monroe for a day for work. What are the top places to hit up for lunch and dinner?

Do Sage for lunch and Cotton for dinner. Make a reservation for dinner to be safe. Consider the redfish at Sage.

how about lunch places $10-$15?

Any other places that aren't upscale?

Otis Rockefeller has good suggestions. However, a couple less expensive lunch places are Melvins, Waterfront and Portico..

Get the hamburger steak with onion rings. Have them stuff it with cheese and peppers.

Get the mini tacos for an app at melvins but make damn sure you let them sit for a minute or 2 before biting into one.

I don't get to make the call on how much we're willing to charge to "the man", but as backup, I'd like to know of a few places that aren't on the high end. Lunch may have to be quick as well.

Also, I'm coming from ATL and haven't had Louisiana food in months so if I can find some good seafood or cajun that would be outstanding.

Great suggestion. But if he can splurge just a bit for dinner, I'd still hit Cotton for fine dinning, Southern style with a big Louisiana influence.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Hopefully we can hit up Cottons. If not, it looks like we've got some good selections to choose from.

Yep. I think the deal is set. Lots of folks flocking in for the "last suppers".
