Looking forward to the third annual Datty awards

Just wondering about nomination requirements for rookie of the year. I wasn't sure what the stipulations were for becoming a nominee. Is it solely based on the date you joined the site, amount of posts, or just when someone becomes a regular poster and first starts to have his name recognized?
Just got a new job on the river where I'll be on the boat for 24/7 every other week with a lot of down time to do things like read just about every thread on the board. In other words, I'm going for broke in 2012!

Believe it or not, the worst and dumbest poster awards are the easiest to get nominated for, and even those categories have some heavy competition.
