Last year my wife completed the Excelsior College online nursing program. She paid a yearly fee and paid to take her in person clinical at a hospital.

Are both of these tax deductions?

Excelsior did not send her a tax form in the mail and said tests are not tax deductable. I thought the irs said that fees you had to pay to the university were tax deductible?

Anyone know what I should do in this situation?

tuition/fees are tax deductible as well as books, you dont need to get a tax form from the hospital for this, just go ahead and file it

Excelsior said that it is an exam based course and that tests are not tax deductible.

We have a test fee of 1068.75
Student Association fee of 495
Graduation fee of 440
Yearly enrollment fee of 356.25

Should all be tax deductible right?
