If you're in Louisiana right now(visible planets)

go outside and look west and up about 45 degrees. Jupiter is clearly visible to the naked eye. I wish I had a telescope handy. If you do, Venus may be visible as well. I can Jupiter easily with nothing other than the naked eye. Gonna go to my sister's house later this week and show my nephews through their telescope

Can you take some pictures for me? I don't feel like getting out of bed.

I guess the homes across the street from me are blocking it because I can't see anything.

Venus is usually visible right at dusk. Or is that Mercury? All of them except Neptune can be seen with the naked eye...Neptune you'll need telescope.

I see 4 very bright flickering lights, but, honestly can't tell what i'm looking at. They are in the west and all are 'below' the moon.

Jupiter and Venus are easily seen with the naked eye now. Both currently appear brighter than 99% of the visible stars. Later in the evening Mars rises above the horizon in the east. Later this month it will appear much higher and next month even brighter. Saturn comes up around midnight and is easiest seen in the pre-dawn hours (in the east). Mercury can also be seen late in the month, just above the western horizon right after sunset. It is not very bright and because that is the direction of the sun, it is not all that noticable, but it can be found by an unaided eye.

There you have it....In one night, 4 planets can be seen and later this month, 5.

The planets are the "stars" in the sky that are much brighter than the other ones. If it's flickering, it's more than likely a star (galaxy), or you need to change out your contacts for some fresh ones.
