Wow, Lunardi has Ole Miss as his first team out. They are 14-8 with one top 25 win (Miss. St.) and losses to Marguette (by 30); Southern Miss, Midd. Tenn., Dayton, LSU (by 30); Auburn; Fla. and Bama. If Ole Miss is the first team out as of today, than LSU should be close behind.

Not quite how that works, we are a little ways back. A win over Vandy would at least put us in the discussion.

No I get it, I was being sarcastic. My point was Ole Miss's resume is not any better than LSU's resume at this point in the season.

ETA: Lunardi seems to be basing his projection solely off of record and not looking at who Ole Miss has lost to.

If LSU can finish hot they can make it in. SEC is up this year, and we have some quality OOC showings beating Marquette, taking UVA to the wire, and finishing hot.

Lunardi is pretty damn good with those projections, he's not basing it just off of record, Miss St. win gave Ole Miss a good jump in RPI

Arkansas is in the second 4 out group (they need to prove they can win away from Bud Walton before they will get back in the bracket).

The State win was nice for Ole Miss, but 30 point losses to Marquette and LSU and a loss to Auburn. I just don't their resume is that impressive.

their resume isn't very impressive but their SOS give them a decent RPI. Wish that RPI mattered as much in baseball like it seems to in basketball. Ole Miss has no business being on the bubble, but the way things are, they are on the bubble. It's fine, they still have games @ State, vs Vandy, @ Kentucky, @ Arkansas, vs. Bama, and us again. I don't see them winning any of those games except maybe us at home. That's 5 more losses. No way they get in with that resume. 13 losses and 1 signature win doesn't get you an invite.

they may beat bama at home since they just took them to 2ot on the road. But either way they'll likely struggle down the stretch and wont be near the tournament.

agreed, also to answer whoever said we have to be close to them. Ole Miss stands at #52 in the RPI (very generous naming them the 1st team out) and we sit at #74.

LSU would probably need to win the SEC Tourney to get in.

LSU is almost a bubble team for NIT. Noway is this team going to the big dance. Maybe in a yr or two, but not this season.

I don't think they will make it either, but to say there is no way is silly. It would only take a couple of minor upsets and win the rest, pick up a game in the SECT and LSU would be very squarely on the bubble.

Have you looked at their record? If they go 6-2 down the stretch (which is not impossible based on their schedule), they will finish 19-11 (9-7). Combine that with a win in the tournament and they are pretty close to getting in.

ETA:

Remaining Schedule

Feb 8 @VAN 9:00 PM ET
Feb 11 vsALA 7:00 PM ET
Feb 14 vs#18 MSST 9:00 PM ET
Feb 18 @SCAR 1:30 PM ET
Feb 22 vsUGA 8:00 PM ET
Feb 25 @MISS 1:30 PM ET
Feb 29 vsTENN 9:00 PM ET

Ummmm no? Most Arkansas fans were hoping for the NIT.

Twenty wins is the whiner's number. An even twenty is borderline with a decent schedule. Our schedule is no murderers' row.

Can we worry about getting in the NIT first.. Before getting insane ideas about the NCAA tourney?
