I'm not any kind of talent scout at all, so I was coming here to ask the Recruiting Board Guru's their opinions on these 3 kids. In the end, I don't really care about rankings, but since its early I was wondering where in the rankings we can expect to find these kids as far as the "stars" go when they start coming out later in the year.

For the dumbasses: I asked for where people expect the kids to be ranked to get an estimated idea of how good they are or who they could be compared to. I didn't ask for the rankings so I could judge them solely on a star rating. I thought it was clear, but apparently some people are too close-minded and stupid to realize it and want to come in here bashing people for the sake of trying to seem intelligent.

TIA

Edit: He hasn't committed yet, but from what I've gathered, most expect him to commit soon. what about Tevin Lawson?

Great analysis. I hope they all turn out this way! If they do, MULTIPLE CHAMPIONSHIPS!

If you want the honest truth Brazil will be a 4star and the other two Baker and White will be 3 stars on Rivals. Rivals wont come down and take a look at them during their senior season so thats how they will end up.

Barton Simmons from 247sports will actually come and look at them and they could get a boost over on that site.

Scout Im sure Scout will look similar to Rivals.

They have their best chance of being ranked higher on 247 than any other service becasue they do a good job coming in this state and evaluating kids ... the others dont.

Thanks for the only serious response.

Are there any players that you would compare them to?

With baker being sort of an "unknown", he may be a big surprise. I agree brazil will be a 4 and white will be a 3 but he could get a bump if the Sr tape appeals to the scouts. JMO

Is it true that White runs a 4.7? WTF?

I have no idea. I'm from Slidell and a few buddies of mine have little brothers/other relatives that go to school at Salmen and most of them are shocked this kid got an offer. Obviously none of them are scouts or evaluate talent professionally, but do know a little bit about football so take it FWIW.

edit: My bad. Thought you were talking about Baker.

Different speed on different track surfaces. If he was really that slow on all surfaces, he wouldn't even get a sniff from a staff that values speed over just about anything. Lorenzo Phillips recorded around a 4.7-4.8 at one of his combines, yet he is considered one of the fastest pass rushers of the 2012 class and had a lot of big name schools chasing after him.

White's film looks legit. Baker's film looks so-so.

I seriously doubt that. No way LSU would be offering a guy with 4.7 speed at CB. His film doesn't suggest he is close to being that slow. He looks pretty damn fast to me on film. Classification might have something to do with it but still...looks like he leaves people pretty easily.

I heard about this and it's the most shocking thing I've ever experienced in my life. He is the worst football player I've ever seen. The kid prob had 16 catches and 20-25 drops as a JR. And he no lie had double digit carries for a season total of negative yards. And I know this bc my little brother plays for Salmen. Saw all but one of the games last year. LSU has to take back their offer once they actually see him play.

lol thsi is what a friend of mine said about the kid from Salmen. Now, he was definitely exaggerating with some of it, but he doesn't seem impressed with the kid at all. Remember, he is not a scout and does not get paid to evaluate talent, but for someone who goes to all the kids games it sure doesn't seem like the kid stood out at these games.

Baker? Salmen has a horrible offensive system. Most likely LSU saw some hidden talent there.

If they offered this early without waiting to camp evaluations, they must like something.

I just think that's excessive. Considering there are other people who watched him live and said he caught everything thrown in his direction. I haven't watched the kid but it would seem ridiculous that our staff would offer a guy with 16 catches and 20-25 drops.

I know. Like I said, he was most likely exaggerating a lot just to get his point across. He's no professional but you would hope that a player that LSU is recruiting and offered thsi early would stand out significantly. I just don't have a good feeling about it if someone feels that badly about a kid. I trust our staff and their evaluations, but I don't think I'm the only one that has questions about this one.

Might be similar to the Lewis offer we handed out a few years ago. He was in a run heavy offense, LSU offered early but he was a academic casualty.
