The chance that we get Alabama in a national championship game again is a million to one unless they go to a plus one. Yhat being said this game should motivate us to dominate work to dominate the Alabama program. I would put the date and score on the wall of the lockerroom with the words " Never Again " meaning never let this happen again. It would be the same as the slave riding in the chariot whispering in the ear of the conquerer - "Fame is Fleeting" Another team had done this to us before over 100 years ago and the Tigers went on to dominate them to it was Tulane. I hope that the tigers can look back in 50 years and say the same about Alabama. I want this to be Alabama's last harah against the Tigers.

LSU is not going to dominate Alabama as long as Nick Saban is there.

Not dominate, but we can go .500(which is exactly what Les has done) and there shouldn't be anything wrong with that. LSU and Bama are both going to be very, very good for the forseeable future. Yes, they beat us in the biggest game in LSU football history IMO, but we have a very good chance to beat NS & the bummers in 3 straight regular season games. Find another school & coach that can say that.

This fanbase needs to learn its place in the college football world and deal with it properly.

With ESPN running the show now, the odds of this happening again are very high. Some teams play by a different set of standards: Bama is one of them.

LSU has to prove it can beat Bama twice in a year now. As a fan, you better learn to deal with this or you will be a miserable person.

Football wins equal good coaching skills, game plan, motivation or want. But you still got to have the horses ie talent speed ball skills. Thats why Bama has been so successful it starts with recruiting very good players and turning them into stars. thats not to say Lsu hasn't been successful at this as well, but i don't see either team dominate the other both have skilled players and neither is that much better then the other.

Wouldn't that be interesting if we lost a close game to bama and go 11-1. If we are both 1,2 or 3 you think Nick would want to play us again, if no other team has no loses? You bet he wouldn't be so accommodating like Miles.

Then we go to the Sugar Bowl, at best.

End of story.

Wouldn't matter. LSU goes to the Sugar Bowl, at best.

Saban knows ESPN will do his bidding for him. He has no concerns about this.

He said the truth. Les miles has won against Saban, but never dominated. Nick Saban has dominated Miles. 21-0 and top recruiting class to follow it.

Since Joe Carol left USC Little Nicky is the Dixie darling! It was hard to find a gump fan on Nov.6 but they have come out of the wood work since the NC game.

I think treating 9 Jan as more than what it was - one game, albeit a very important one - is unhealthy. You can't let one game - whether you won or lost it - define your program.

Tressel did this after Florida thumped them following the 2006 season. He made the four-digit combination that players had to use to enter the facilities 41-14. He wanted them to burn over it. They did, I guess.

Oh - and it's very likely a plus-one format gets adopted.

Here's where Jan. 9th will lead LSU:

LSU will never get the benefit of the doubt with BCSNC voters. Never will voters put LSU in the big game by virtue of any reputation points. Jan 9th has hurt LSU's rep with the press. LSU shite the bed and the voters/media will never forget that.

LSU would have gotten another shot at Bama, even if LSU lost a close one in Tuscaloosa on Nov 5th, 2011. LSU had built up enough rep to get a re match with Bama on Jan 9th. That reputation and goodwill are now erased. Gone.

LSU will have to WIN it's way into the BCSNC game, and, yes, even if we beat Bama again in the regular season, the voters will again give a one-loss Bama a re-match with us.

This will be the legacy of Jan 9th. The road just got a lot harder to travel, because the new media template on LSU is that we shite the bed when it really counts.

Losing a big game hurts your program and makes things more difficult. Only the strongest of the strong can endure.

None of this has anything to do with LSU fans. What we think or what we write on a message board is not going to sway BCS voters and sports journalists. As such, we fans can "move on" and "put it behind us" as much as we please, but, we won't affect the psyche of BCS voters and sports journalists one iota. Some LSU fans have a very exaggerated notion of what words on a message board can accomplish. The man in charge of LSU football is in control. Whether we endure or fail is up to him, not the fans.

We have got our work cut out for us, but, this competition and this challenge makes us stronger.

The King of the Hill will grow complacent and fat, while the hungry Tiger patiently awaits the moment to strike him suddenly and decisively.
