Just moved into a subdivision in the very southeastern tip of East Baton Rouge, so i basically live in Prairieville now.

Need to know what's what as far as Groceries, meat markets, delies, bakeries, restaurants, etc.

It's not exactly the Vegas Strip. Just head over to Airline Hwy everything is pretty much right there.

I'm an old-timer- 20 years in the neighborhood. It goes without saying that Mason's is just up Old Jefferson. Call for pickup of burgers. Head over there on the weekend for brunch. Yea, you can head down Airline for all the fast food and pizza your heart desires. I prefer Papa Murphy's, Highland @ OJ. That location has stayed really solid. For Chinese takeout, try the one next to Albertsons, not the one on the corner of Highland and OJ . There's a produce stand just south of Walmart. The people there are really nice. They don't do the volume of the big places, but not bad. Just up Highland is Maxwells for meat, plus Le Creole, Ruffino's and the beignet place. The donuts at Wholly Donuts on OJ just south of Highland are really good, and they also put out a mean kolache. Those are my favs, but everything is growing and there are lots of new places to try.

Two things on that place. I think they have changed the name, the other is I thought the donuts are IMHO. Everthing else you said I agree with.

They're now Fleur de lis donuts, the vet from Azeala lakes bought them out.

Sort of makes a difference if you are talking old jeff or old perkins. Not like it is huge difference, but...

Winn Dixie is right across the street from WalMart in pville. Less hassle and prices aren't enough to make a difference.

Pimanyoli's is a place you have to give a try, Le Creole for lunch if you want a good deal.

Greek food is Albasha in P'ville and not Serops.
Not a good chinese place in the area
Rotolo's in Pville for deals on beer, MTWTh you can get some sort of pitcher for $5-7, microbrews included.

Maxwells for meat market and deli.

The Subway by the country clubs is about $2 less for the same lunches
Thee Heavenly Donut
Latte e Miele gelato
The beignet place between Le Creole and Maxwells is damn strong

Cake Goddess is in the Albertsons shopping center for pastries and cakes.

Thanks for all of the suggestions/tips, guys. I had actually already seen or known about all of the places yall mentioned, so i guess this reinforces the fact that i had already scouted the area pretty well.

Have already been to Tommy's Fish House ... its aaiiight ... wife would rather Dempsey's on Coursey, but i like the option of having my seafood grilled, ... it fits into my new dietary restrictions.

Been to the Fleur De Lis donut place too, i get the boys 6 of their donut holes on the way to nursery, (like to jack em' up on sugar and make the daycare workers earn the obscene amount of money i pay them). I had one of them smoked chicken Kolaches, and it was awesome.
