randal or liggins?

i know a lot of people think randal's gonna be the next great ath qb, but he is an athlete. a transition to another position would be easier for him.

plus 2 years of being behind mett the staff may want to get him on the field sooner?

Randall looks a lot more like a QB than Liggins IMO.

I'm not sure either moves - we only have 4 scholarship QBs now - 1 JR, 2 RSFR, and 1 incoming Freshman - 2 passers and 2 athletic QBs.

Liggins potential to play another position, particularly TE or DE is very, very high because of his size. Randall would pretty much be consigned to slot receiver, which would be a waste as he is the most complete dual threat QB we've had since Perilloux.

The question is: will Liggins be enough of a threat for Rivers to transfer? Rivers can't play anything but QB.

River will turn out to be the best of the group and be a 1st round draft choice.

First, no one knows right now if Mett will be around for two years.

Second, at least one QB besides Mett will see the field this year. It's either Rivers and Randall. I'd put money on Randall because, at the very least, he appears to represent a different skill set.

Third, Randall has an arm. He can play QB. I would think that the staff wants insurance at QB this year.

Fourth, Liggins isn't going to change this year. He'll likely redshirt and learn the system.

Certainly Liggins redshirts, but I think both Rivers AND Randall will play significantly because of the schedule. If both of those guys don't get AT LEAST a quarter against Towson, and perhaps Idaho (although that's early, Mett may play into the second quarter with Randall likely finishing), the implications would be scary.

Likewise, by the end of the season, I would expect Randall and Rivers to get snaps against Ole Miss and perhaps Mississippi State.

Maybe I'm optimistic...

I watched Randal throw at practice for the BCSNCG and he was terrible. He better get improve a ton in the spring. Mett and Rivers have legit arms. I would like to see a QB with a real arm play for a while at LSU. Very tired of the running QB.

Liggins either moves away from the feed bag or into the interior line IMO.
