For you recruiting class veterans, do you ever recall a class with this much collective speed compared to the size of the recruits.

The highlight vids for the LBs is jaw dropping with how fast all of them are. The WRs, TEs, DBs, Safeties, and even Liggins. These are big dudes getting up to speed quickly.

How would you rate this class in terms of speed of the recruits on field? (not 40s, since we know WRs and RBs are going to be faster than LBs, etc.)

For those of you that want to be impressed, watch Debo Jones's acceleration in his highlight vid. Absolutely sick!

Stoked about this class! 11/3/12 is coming...

I'm pretty sure I've never seen that kind of burst from a LB before

Most LSU recruiting classes have lots of speed; that quality in general is nothing new or extraordinary.

However, we have never had a group of LBs who were this fast. That component is unique.

The speed of Reid Ferguson's snaps blew my mind

He is honestly the recruit that excites me the most

LSU has always put speed at a premium. But I agree, one of the fastest overall classes. Mainly due to the LB class being able to run.

Why do you insist on subjecting this board to optimism and common sense?

Your comments are dead-on. It's true LSU missed out on several of the top prospects in La. Collins and Devall were headed to Ala. well before the NCG. I see nothing wrong w/ the LSU recruiting effort. And as you note, what jumps out at you about this signing class is the across-the-board speed, which fits in line w/ the coaching philosophy of this staff.

I have one wish for next season, and one bit of constructive criticism for Coach Miles, who is doing a helluva job: one, I wish that Coach Krags' health improves! Two, w/ all due respect I hope that Les leaves Krags alone and lets him do his job!

Very impressive, but I submit 2009 with round-about size/speed (from a faulty memory).

Shepard -190 - 4.35
Calhoun - 185 - 4.31 (laser)
Loston - 195 - 4.45
Mingo - 205 - 4.5
Montgomery - 225 - 4.43
Claiborne - 180 - 4.4
Ford - 202 - 4.5

I'm sure I'm missing some other burners.

Believe it or not, that was a legit time (from a combine I believe). People forget how ridiculously fast he was in high school (he was about 40 pounds lighter than now) and pre-knee injury. He ran down Shepard from behind at the Under Armour game.

so Kwon is roughly the same speed and size as Mingo.....I like!
