Need some advice on restaurant in Chicago. Something a little more upscale, like a nice steakhouse or Italian. Lost a bet and now I have a dinner date in chi-town.

Last trip I boozed it up all weekend at DePaul and didn't get to explore the restaurant scene. Anyone been and know a good place to wine and dine in downtown Chicago?

Tango Sur. Great steak, byob, and a much better date environment than any old man overpriced downtown steakhouse. Only problem is you can't make reservations and it is popular.

Gene & Georgetti's on N. Franklin. Get you a coupla scotch and waters and a ginormous G & G steak and all's well with the world.

The absolute best steak in town is the dry-aged filet at Harry Carey's Steakhouse. Its pricey though.

There is an LSU bar called Standard Bar and Grill in Wicker Park. Its a bar but their mac n cheese is killer.

I got pizza at DiGiordano's. But if you ask anyone where the best pizza is, you'll get a different answer every time. All have great atmosphere.

My Italian meal was at Cafe Spiaggia, and it was absolutely outstanding food that didn't break the bank. Very highly recommended:
